You can nearly take every gas station even at night - in Germany most of them are closed beacuse they don't have pay-at-the-pump-machines. Sometimes at least they offer ONE machine at night which consecutively serves 10 or more pumps. You first have to park your car at the pump, walk to the machine somewhere in the center of the gas station, put in your credit card, choose the pump number, take out your credit card, go to the pump, lift the nozzle and fill your tank, go back to the pay machine, put in your credit card again, wait for your receipt, walk back to the car - go on driving... very "convenient" ;) I really like the American way in this case. I think it's pretty cool you can always find a place to buy food also when it's after 8 o'clock or sunday. the wierdest thing i ever saw was a drive-trough-bank were you put the money you wanted to pay in under some kind of tube and it was just sucked up and into the bank :-o i gotta say though, i've only been to texas by now. and many texans would be better off walking some additional steps to get there taco bell and whatta burger kilos off hmm i love american convenience. I think it’s pretty cool you can always find a place to buy food also when it’s after 8 o’clock or sunday.
